I marched in yesterday’s Northwest Arkansas Pride Parade. My girlfriend, who works with international students at the University of Arkansas and who is, as part of her thesis, writing about our country’s immigration policies throughout history, carried a sign in support of the Uniting American Families Act. The bill would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to end discrimination in immigration laws by permitting permanent partners of US citizens and lawful permanent residents to obtain lawful permanent resident status in the same manner as spouses of citizens and lawful permanent residents and to penalize immigration fraud in connection with permanent partnerships. There are estimated to be about 36,000 same-sex couples that would benefit from passage of this act. (Photo by Sarah Tomlin)

Let No One Tear Asunder

Congratulations to 59-year-old Rush Limbaugh on his fourth marriage, this time to 33-year-old Kathryn Rogers. Mr. Limbaugh, along with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, can’t seem to get enough of Traditional Marriage, what with the two of them having married a total of seven times—and counting. Best of luck to the newlyweds.
